ORD, thou wilt hear me when I I am for ever thine;
I fear before thee all the day, Nor would I dare to sin.
2. And whilst I rest my weary head, From cares and bus'ness free, 'Tis sweet conversing on my bed With my own heart and thee.
3. I pay this ev'ning sacrifice :
And when my work is done, Great God! my faith and hope relies Upon thy grace alone.
4. Thus, with my thoughts compos'd to peace, I'll give mine eyes to sleep; Thy hand in safety keeps my days, And will my slumbers keep.
Hymn 341. L. M. Self-examination. Gal. iv. 19, 20. HAT strange perplexities arise? What anxious fears and jealousies!!
What crowds in doubtful light appear? How few, alas, approv'd and clear!
2. And what am I?-My soul, awake, And an impartial survey take: Does no dark sign, no ground of fear, In practice, or in heart appear? 3. What image does my spirit bear? Is Jesus form'd, and living there?
Say, do his liniaments divine In thought, and word, and action shine?
4. Searcher of hearts, O search me still; The secrets of my soul reveal; My fears remove, let me appear
To God, and my own conscience clear.

Family religion. Gen. xviii. 19.
ATHER of all, thy care we bless, Which crowns our families with peace;
From thee they spring, and by thy hand They have been, and are still sustain'd.
2. To God, most worthy to be prais'd, Be our domestic altars rais'd; Who, Lord of heaven, scorns not to dwell With saints in their obscurest cell...
3. To thee may each united house, Morning and night, present its vows;.. Our servants there, and rising race Be taught thy precepts, and thy grace. 4. O may each future age proclaim The honours of thy glorious name; While, pleas'd and thankful, we remove To join the family above.

REATE my soul anew, Else all my worship's vain;
This wretched heart will ne'er prove true,

2. Descend, celestial fire,
And seize me from above!

NOTHER six day's work is doney. Another sabbath is begun; Return my soul, enjoy thy rest, Improve the day thy God has blest.
2. Come, bless the Lord, whose love assigns, So sweet a rest to wearied minds; Provides an antepast of heav'n,
And gives this day the food of sev'n.
3. O that our thoughts and thanks may rise, As grateful incence, to the skies; And draw from heav'n that sweet repose, Which none, but he who feels it, knows...
4. This heav'nly calm, within the breast, Is the dear pledge of glorious rest, Which for the church of God remains,, The end of cares, the end of pains.
5. With joy, great God, thy works we view, In various scenes both old and new; With praise we think on mercies past, With hope, we future pleasures taste.
6. In holy duties let the day,
In holy pleasures pass away; How sweet, a Sabbath thus to spend,' In hope of one that ne'er shall end.

FREQUENT the day
To shed its quick'ning beams; And yet how slow devotion burns! How languid are its flames. 2. Accept our faint attempts to love, Our frailties, Lord forgive; We would be like thy saints above, And praise thee while we live.
3. Increase, O Lord, our faith and hope, And fit us to ascend,
Where the assembly ne'er breaks up, The Sabbath ne'er shall end.
4. Where we shall breathe in heav'nly air,, With heav'nly lustre shine;
Before the throne of God appear, And feast on love divine.

Welcome to this reviving breast, And these rejoicing eyes. 2. The King himself comes near, And feasts his saints to-day; Here we may sit, and see him here, And love, and praise and pray.
3. One day amidst the place
Where my dear God hath been, Is sweeter than ten thousand days Of pleasurable sin.
4. My willing soul would stay In such a frame as this, And sing and bear herself away To everlasting bliss.

OW charming is the place Where my redeemer God
Unveils the beauties of his face, And sheds his love abroad.

To which the great resort, Are once to be compar'd with this, Where Jesus holds his court.
3. Here on the mercy seat,
