5. To thee, dear Lord, our flesh and soul

We joyfully resign :

Bless'd Jesus, take us for thy own,
For we are doubly thine.

6. Thine honour shall forever be
The busines of our days.
For ever shall our thankful tongues,
Speak thy deserved. praise.

Hymn 88. P. M.

EJOICE, the Lord is King,
Your God and king adore ;

Mortals give thanks, and sing,
And triumph evermore !
Lift up your hearts, lift up your voice,
Rejoice aloud, ye saints, rejoice.

2. Rejoice, the Saviour reigns,

The God of truth and love;
When he had purg'd our stains,
He took his seat above;

Lift up, &c.

3. His kingdom cannot fail,

He rules o'er earth and heav'n;

The keys of death and hell
Are to our Jesus given :

Lift up, &c.

4. He all his foes shall quell,

Shall all our sins destroy,
And every bosom swell
With pure seraphic joy;
Lift up, &c.

5. Rejoice in glorious hope,

Jesus, the Judge, shall come,

And take his servants up
To their eternal home;

We soon shall hear th' Archangel's voice,
The trump of God shall sound, rejoice!

A new song to the Lamb that was slain, Rev. v. 6, 8,

1.

B

9, 10, 12.

EHOLD the glories of the Lamb
Amidst his father's throne!

Prepare new honours for his name,
And songs before unknown.
2. Let elders worship at his feet,
The church adore around,
With vials full of odours sweet,
And harps of sweeter sound.
3. These are the prayers of the saints,
And these the hymns they raise:
Jesus is kind to our complaints,
He loves to hear our praise.

4. Now to the Lamb that once was slain,
Be endless blessings paid;
Salvation, glory, joy, remain
Forever on thy head.

5. Thou hast redeem'd our souls with blood,
Hast set the pris'ners free,

Hast made us kings and priests to God,
And we shall reign with thee.

6. The worlds of nature and of grace
Are put beneath thy power;
Then shorten these delaying days,
And bring the promis'd hour.

Hymn 90. с. м.

CHRIST JESUS, the Lamb of God, worshipped by all
the Creation, Rev. v. 11, 12, 13.
OME, let us join our cheerful songs
With angels round the throne.
Ten thousand thousand are their tongues,

1.

C

But all their joys are one.

H

2. " Worthy the Lamb that died," they cry, "To be exalted thus:"

" Worthy the Lamb," our lips reply, For he was slain for us.

3. Jesus is worthy to receive

Honour and pow'r divine;
And blessings more than we can give,
Be, Lord, forever thine.

4. Let all that dwell above the sky,
And air, and earth, and seas,
Conspire to lift thy glories high,
And speak thine endless praise.

5. The whole creation join in one,
To bless the sacred name
Of him that sits upon the throne,
And to adore the Lamb.

Hymn 91. с. м.

The Glory of Christ in heaven.

The delights, the heav'nly joys,
The glories of the place,

Where Jesus sheds the brightest beams
Of his o'erflowing grace!

2. Sweet majesty and awful love
Sit smiling on his brow,
And all the glorious ranks above
At humble distance bow.
3. Princes to his imperial name

:

Bend their bright sceptres down;
Dominions, thrones, and pow'rs rejoice
To see him wear the crown.

4. Archangels sound his lofty praise
Through ev'ry heav'nly street,
And lay their highest honours down
Submissive at his feet.

:

5. This is the man, th' exalted man,
Whom we, unseen, adore ;
But when our eyes behold his face,
Our hearts shall love him more.

6. And while our faith enjoys this sight,
We long to leave our clay;
And wish thy fiery chariots, Lord,
To bear our souls away.

Hymn 92. с. м.

LL hail the pow'r of Jesus' name,
Let angels prostrate fall !

Bring forth the royal diadem,
And crown him Lord of all.

2. Crown him, ye martyrs of our God,
Who from the altar call,
Extol the stem of Jesse's rod,
And crown him Lord of all.

3. Ye chosen seed of Isr'el's race,
A remnant weak and small,
Hail him who saves you by his grace,
And crown him Lord of all.

4. Ye Gentile sinners, ne'er forget
The wormwood and the gall,
Go lay your trophies at his feet,
And crown him Lord of all.

5. Babes, men, and sires, who know his love,
Who feel your sins and thrall,
Now join with all the host above,
And crown him Lord of all.

6. Let ev'ry kindred, ev'ry tribe,
On this terrestrial ball,
To him all majesty ascribe,
And crown him Lord of all.

7. O that with yonder sacred throng
We at his feet may fall..
We'll join the everlasting song-
And crown him Lord of all.

Hymn 93. L. M.

1

OW let us raise our cheerful strains,
And join the blissful choir above;
There our exalted Saviour reigns,
And there they sing his wond'rous love.

2. While seraphs tune immortal song,
O may we feel the sacred flame;
And every heart and every tongue
Adore the Saviour's glorious name.

3. Jesus, who once upon the tree
In agonizing pains expir'd;
Who dy'd for rebels-yes, 'tis he!
How bright! how lovely! how admir'd!

4. Jesus, who dy'd that we might live,
Dy'd in the wretched traitor's place;
O what returns can mortals give,
For such immeasurable grace !

5. Were universal nature ours,
And art with all her boasted store;
Nature and art with all their powers,
Would still confess the off 'rer poor!
6. Yet tho' for bounty, so divine,
• We ne'er can equal honours raise,
Jesus, may all our hearts be thine,
And all our tongues proclaim thy praise.
